WHAT IS AN AU PAIR?

Au Pairs are young people from around the world who join American host families, provide up to 45 hours of loving childcare per week while sharing their culture and language. Au Pairs live as members of their host families, embracing their role as a dependable caregiver.

What you'll need.

The following are the DoS minimum basic Au Pair applicant requirements:

1.Between 18 and 26 years old

2.Proficiency in English

3.Graduated from secondary school (High School)

4.Have documented, verifiable child-care experience

5.Have no criminal records

6.Must be personally interviewed by partner agency

7.Good health

What happens next.

Au Pairs duties

Work up to 45 hours per week

(flexible schedule). No more than

10 hours per day

Assist with light housekeeping

(related to children e.g. cooking,

cleaning, laundry)

Drive children to or from school

appointments & activities

Introduce language and culture of

home country to the host family

Minimum commitment of 1 year

with possibility of extension
